He is the embodiment of Serge Reggiani’s Italian. The dry-eyed novel of a 19-year old, that’s him. "Bonne f√™te Paulete", a first sketch, sent by the post, that’s him too. Vincent, Francois, Paul, Cesar, Rosalie, VIolette, Clara, these and others, are him as well. The list is too long, but what an incredible journey by this genius gentleman jack of all trades.
This subjective and obviously incomplete portrait focuses on his work above all, its genesis, the often complex insights into life that he managed to convey with deceptively simple words in conversations between Cesar and Rosalie, or in the words of Petit garcon. Simple words for complex feelings and emotions, that is the best epitaph for the remarkable words of this playwrite.
