In France, in the eighteenth century, the night falls slowly over the castle of “Madame la Marquise”, announces the driven out across in the hallways, the doors open, closes again, the shadows that slide. A guest, a libertine writer, infiltrates in the room of his host. Starts then the patient game of seduction between the two people : all night, they are successively attract, pushed back, telling each other their own historical lovers ; the strange adventure of the imprisoned writer for the writings to be licensed, and who gave during all this time anonymity correspondence and burning with his mysterious cellar neighbour.
